Napa Valley and San Francisco April 2009

What a fantastic trip! Lots of Fun, Food and Frivolity.....and wine! We had so much fun with good friends Glenn and Robyn. We had a private tour of the Del Dotto Winery and also one from Sebastiani. The one from Sebastiani was by Mark Lyon, whom I used to babysit many years ago. He has grown quite a bit and knows a lot about the history of Sebastiani as well as making wine.

The week of March 20th

Was a busy week as usual. Wednesdays are a special day, as I pick up Sam from school. We get a treat and I take him to tutoring. Brian picks him up and brings them all over for dinner. Dawn has class on Wednesday nights. This Wednesday after dinner we went in the hottub. Hannah loves playing in the pillows on my bed and running around nakey nakey! She also loves wearing my shoes.

Spring Break

Another busy week with work and Rotary. The kids are on spring break so we went to the park on Monday and had a picnic. Really fun! Julie, Lucas, Sammy, Hannah, Ashley and Ben and Jasmine, Dawn and Dawn's sister and her two little girls. Beautiful day. Last night was a Rotary board meeting...only 3 more to go as President. Today we have the Official Historian of Arizona, Marshall Trimble speaking at our meeting. Should be great! All of us have been doing the Wii Fit, including Hannah.

This Week

It has been a busy week. The peach tree is blooming...Love this time of year. Lots of patients this week which are a good thing! I love my patients. I actually had someone who is traveling to the Dominican Republic and Haiti so I was able to share some things with him about the D.R. Yesterday was Rotary and we had a speaker from Make-A-Wish Foundation, which actually was founded in Phoenix. What a great organization! I am busy planning a fundraiser for our club, a Bowl-A-Thon. Will keep you posted on that! Today is Friday and I am meeting my friend Pat for lunch. Pat & I went to High School together. Later this afternoon, I am meeting Julie and we are going to see "Twilight". Should be a really fun day.

I finished!!

I spent the whole day and finished Twilight! Should have been tending to my To Do List but I will hit it tomorrow or Wednesday...Was fun to take a day off!

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Went for a great hike with my friend Ingrid! Marita is in Mexico City so we missed her on the hike. We hiked for about 2 1/2 hours this morning. Everything is so green (for us) with all the rain, so that this should be one spectacular spring. Had a nice relaxing afternoon and started the book Twilight, which has been highly recommended reading, by my lovely daughter, whom could not put it down while we were on the trip. Dan worked and then played golf and tonight we are going to our friends, Rick and Doe for dinner when the boys finish golf. Nice day~!

Party Report

Well the party was a huge success! We had the requested food of Steak, Twice Baked Potatoes, Corn on the cob and Birthday Apple Pie (In spite of my oven not working and needing to use neighbors oven). GE couldn't come until Monday even though I was having my Grandson's BD Party. Go Figure!! Of course Dan came home and waved his had in front of it and it began working. Julie, Danny, Lucas and Brian and Dawn were here for dinner and the birthday pie. Actually 4 month old Baby Isabella also joined us for the evening, while her Mom and Dad went to a Phoenix Suns Game. She was a perfect angel. Sam and two of his buddies, Tony and Sean, watched movies until 2:00am and ate junk food and popcorn that should have been made by his Grandpa...Grandma is not that great at it (although they didn't complain)! They started the morning with Donuts and then played outside with Sam's remote controlled Rock Climber. Then they were off to the Hot Tub! Brian made a wonderful feast for breakfast. That boy cooks a mean breakfast.

Should be fun!

Dominican Republic Feb 2009

Just returned from a wonderful 8 day stay in the Dominican Republic where Julie was a bridesmaid and I was a guest at Jessi's wedding. Jessi was Julie's roommate at Grand Canyon University and I became Jessi's #2 Mom. I was totally treated like one of the family. We shared a house with Jessi's Mom and Dad and Grandma & Grandpa and got to participate in the wedding preparations. We visited the school where Jessi is a nurse and got to have the food that the children had. I have to say that when I saw what the kids were eating, I thought "boy I am glad we are not eating here!" But low and behold, we got to have lunch there too and I have to admit, it was pretty good. I will post some pictures to help describe the beauty of that country and also the beautiful bride and wedding.
